Testimonials

Lance Conrad is the best author presentation every year. He gets the students to think like writers and to love reading. He is entertaining and keeps the students engaged throughout the presentation. When he finishes reading an excerpt from his book, the students just want to hear more. Students love that they can order his books and also get him to autograph their copy. I love that my students have the chance to meet a local author and hear why he loves what he does!

I’ve seen his presentation several times before and each time I am just grateful and blown away by his ability to inspire. We are so fortunate to be able to have his influence on our young writers. Thank you for reaching out to our school.

Tell Lance thank you for a great author visit. He was entertaining and engaging. The students and teachers enjoyed his visit and learned from what he had to say about writing and life in general. He had a long day presenting to 7 different class periods and kept the same great energy from beginning to end. He is really good at directing students’ attention, keeping their interest, and managing a room full of students. We really appreciate the time he took to visit our school! Two of our teachers commented that it was one of the best, if not the best, author visit we’ve had.

Mr. Conrad came to my classroom and spent the whole day talking to my students about the joys of writing and the process of publication. He had my students laughing all day and he answered several questions. Many of my students bought his books and they brought them to school the next day and were reading them. I even had students who were not avid readers buy his books. When I asked the students what they thought of Mr. Conrad they said he was funny. Also, when I asked my students if they were enjoying his books, they responded with, “I couldn’t put it down.”

Thank you so much for helping us arrange for this visit from Lance. His presentation was friendly, funny, and educational. He has a great rapport with young people and adjusted his presentation depending on time of day and demeanor of students. He is so personable that even the office staff remarked on what a nice person he is. Students asked questions and were eager to talk with him after the presentation and buy books! We will do this again next year.

Oh my goodness it was so great! He was funny and the kids were excited to meet someone who we’ve been talking about. He gave great advice I think that the kids needed to hear.

Lance Conrad exceeded all expectations I had for a presenter.  Keeping 40-50 7th graders engaged for a full 45 minutes is a difficult task for many, but Lance was able to keep their attention the entire session.  His quick witted and highly appropriate responses to questions only encouraged and peak their interest to ask more.  He combined personal anecdotes with a life message and mini lessons on theme, character perspective, and text connections so seamlessly that the students were not even aware that they were indeed learning language arts as well as life skills within that time period.  I am looking forward to another one of his visits again next year.
